This Is What I Want to Say
Ten years of Purkutaide have led to this: 90 artists turned the old University of Art and Design into 55 completely different worlds. If you've been to our earlier exhibitions, you know one thing for certain: behind the next door, something unexpected is always waiting.
The idea
Not paintings on white walls, but a temporary world of art.
Works about climate questions, about being human and about being mistreated. And just as much, rooms with nothing but cats and space to breathe and pause. It's worth remembering to take time for yourself too.
The exhibition deliberately places difficult themes alongside lighter ones and invites you to meet perspectives different from your own. Feel grief in one room, joy in the next and something unexpected in a third. You're not expected to like everything — that's part of the experience.
How we're different
Most exhibitions tell you to look from a distance. Ours asks you to step inside.
Instead of works hanging on walls, entire rooms are the works. You walk from one artist's world into the next and find that the same thing never waits behind the next door.
Why come now
When it ends, it's gone.
The exhibition is open for a limited time only. The works were built for these very spaces, and when the exhibition is taken down, they disappear too.
